Faculty
The administrators and staff of Chamberlain-Hunt Academy, known as cadre, are individuals who care deeply about encouraging young men to reach their full potential. Our cadre is committed to giving Cadets everything they need to achieve their educational goals, while also focusing on their emotional and spiritual development. Our staff and faculty believe that all wisdom stems from our Heavenly Father, and that true education must be an active, ongoing part of a living faith.
Chamberlain-Hunt utilizes a thorough and comprehensive approach in hiring all members of our cadre. The application process includes questions about the prospect's Christian background, education, work history and personal spiritual beliefs. Because our cadre are working with children, background checks are performed to ensure that we only hire the most honorable and reliable individuals.

Administration
COL John Gardner "Jack" West, President
Jack West has served as president of Chamberlain-Hunt Academy since 2008. Prior to his time at Chamberlain-Hunt, he served as vice president for development at Reformed Theological Seminary.
For Jack, being at Chamberlain-Hunt provides an opportunity to be involved in a rare ministry to young men – a ministry that touches all aspects of life. "At Chamberlain-Hunt, we (the cadre) get to live in a small community where we can work, worship and (occasionally) play together. And, we get to do those same things with the Cadets every day," he says.
Jack's widely varied background serves him well at Chamberlain-Hunt. "Over the years I've been concerned at times about changing directions in my career; ”what do people think?" he admits. "So it's been rewarding to be able to use it all here-nothing's been wasted! Who'd have thought it?" His experience includes a Master of Education degree in school administration from Reformed Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary, a law degree from the University of Notre Dame and work with the L'Abri Fellowship in England. He currently enrolled in a Master of Fine Arts program at Mississippi College.
Jack came to Chamberlain-Hunt as director of advancement and served in that position for five years before his appointment as president. He is committed to Chamberlain-Hunt's mission of Christian service and military discipline. One of his favorite quotes is from a Whittier poem, "I know not what the future hath of marvel or surprise, assured alone that life and death God's mercy underlies."
LTC Quentin Johnston, Principal
Serving as principal since 2008, Quentin Johnston has years of experience in both education and ministry, making him an excellent fit with Chamberlain-Hunt's dedication to high academic standards and Christian development.
A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, Quentin was involved with the pastoral oversight of Edinburgh City Fellowship for 15 years. When he moved to the States, he taught high school Christian philosophy, speech, and English at Christian Liberty Academy in Arlington Heights, IL while he served as co-pastor of the Church of Christian Liberty. He was later appointed assistant minister of teaching at Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church.
Quentin received his Master of Divinity degree from Whitefield Theological Seminary in Lakeland, FL and later completed his doctorate from the same school. In 2001, he became an academic dean at Whitefield College, an undergraduate liberal arts institution dedicated to offering degrees in preparation for Christian vocations. He and his wife Pam have one adult son, Lewis.
Quentin, now known as LTC Johnston, comes to Chamberlain-Hunt with a personal understanding of the struggles many of our Cadets face. His adolescence in Edinburgh was a time of challenges, and he believes he overcame these solely through the merciful grace of God. It is this same grace that he relies upon to this day, and he knows that while there are many physical and academic pursuits Cadets may master at Chamberlain-Hunt that will equip them to be productive citizens, it is only the knowledge of God that comes through faith in Christ that will supply them with the Godly wisdom to positively shape their own future family and thus, the future of our nation.
