1. Are you accredited?
Yes. CHA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) (since 1911) and the Mississippi Private School Association (MPSA) (charter member), and is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
2. How much does Chamberlain-Hunt Academy cost and what does that include?
The boarding cost is $16,500 for the 2007-08 academic year. The cost includes tuition, room & board, uniforms and books. Please contact an Admissions counselor for a further breakdown.
3. Do you have summer school?
Yes. CHA runs summer school through the month of June, offering one credit for the class taken. Summer school offers both remedial and advancement classes. If a summer cadet wishes to transfer an advancement credit to another school, he should contact that school for guidance.
4. Where can I find out what is going on during the school year?
There is a calendar on the Web site, displayed by month. The displayed month can be changed by clicking the arrows at the top of the page to advance to the next month.
5. What are privileged weekends?
Privileged weekends are weekend passes available to cadets that have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA after the first nine weeks. There are several privileged weekends each nine weeks; however, every weekend is NOT privileged.
6. How do I know if my child is eligible for the privileged weekend?
To be eligible for privileged weekends, the cadet must have the required GPA and must not have any demerits. Parents may call the office at 601.437.4291 on Thursday afternoon to determine whether their cadets are eligible for a weekend pass.
7. How often will my cadet be able to call home?
Cadets, typically, are allowed one phone call every other week (two, if the parents are divorced). Calls are limited to 7 minutes. For details, see Cadet Handbook.
8. When may parents visit their sons on campus?
Chamberlain-Hunt hosts a Parent Open House once per quarter. All parents are invited to spend an afternoon on campus: visiting the dorms, eating in the DFAC, experiencing the Wilderness Camp, et al. Please check the calendar for dates.
9. Do the cadets get any money?
The cadets are not allowed money on campus. They may earn PARK points and use this type of campus currency for snacks during designated break periods in the Eat-A-Torium (campus canteen).
10. Where is Port Gibson, MS?
Port Gibson is 25 miles south of Vicksburg and 36 miles north of Natchez on the Natchez Trace and Hwy 61. Visit www.mapquest.com to find directions to the school from your location.

11. Are there places to stay in Port Gibson when I come to drop off or pick up my cadet?
Accommodations in Port Gibson are limited; you can find them online at www.missbab.com.
Bernheimer House in Port Gibson offers lodging, as well as a fully inspected and
licensed restaurant and special events facility with a wine and spirits permit.
Many parents choose to stay in Vicksburg or Natchez, which have a variety of B&Bs, hotels and national and local motels.

12. What sports are available at Chamberlain-Hunt?
In addition to our extensive intramural program Chamberlain-Hunt offers three interscholastic sports: Soccer, basketball and track. For more specific information, see the Athletics section of the Web site.
13. What extracurricular activities does CHA offer?
We have art projects, Chess Club, Decurion and music. Cadet officers and Crusaders are frequently involved in service projects and leadership training events.
